Chandigarh, Sep 25 (UNI) Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini is putting urban sanitation on a tight leash, mandating that all payments to waste contractors be routed only through the Solid Waste Management Portal while fixing personal accountability and penalties for unnecessary delays. Reviewing the state's solid waste framework, Saini was informed that 1,646 Ward Committees are now active across urban local bodies, citizens can flag sanitation complaints directly on designated WhatsApp numbers, and GPS-enabled vehicles on 4G and 5G networks are already monitoring door-to-door garbage collection in 83 of 87 civic bodies.
