Chandigarh, Nov 6 (UNI) Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini, on Friday, released Rs 4,470.77 crore for welfare beneficiaries and local bodies, and announced a three-percentage-point increase in dearness allowance to 63 per cent, benefiting around 2.78 lakh government employees and 2.60 lakh pensioners. Announcing the disbursements on Dhanteras, Saini said Rs 2,885.80 crore had been released to panchayati raj institutions and urban local bodies for development works, while Rs 1,584.97 crore had been transferred to beneficiaries under various welfare schemes.
