Ambala's Rs 594-crore 1857 Martyrs' Memorial to open Nov 15; Free entry for 500 visitors

Ambala, Nov 6 (UNI) The Rs 594-crore memorial in Ambala Cantonment commemorating India's 1857 uprising against British rule will open to the public on November 15, with free entry restricted to 500 visitors daily for the first month and advance booking compulsory, Haryana Energy Minister Anil Vij said on Friday. The 22-acre memorial, inaugurated by union Home Minister Amit Shah on Thursday, has been developed to honour thousands of freedom fighters, particularly those whose contributions have received limited recognition in historical accounts.
