Nick Jonas signs on for new romantic comedy with Ari Sandel

Los Angeles, April 13 (UNI) Nick Jonas has signed on to headline an untitled romantic comedy, to be directed by Ari Sandel, best known for "The DUFF".
The script has been written by Tamara Chestna, whose previous work includes "Something from Tiffany’s" and "Moxie", reports DEADLINE,
The film follows a perennial bachelor whose carefree life is upended when he unexpectedly inherits his cousin’s infant child. Just as he gets a grip on life as a dad, complications arise when the child’s godmother appears around the holidays to claim custody of her. What ensues is a love story neither saw coming.
Steve Barnett is producing for Monarch Media, alongside Mark Ross for Lincoln Road Films, Spencer Berman and Jonas for Powered by Jonas, and Chestna. Alan Powell and Vicky Patel are exec producing for Monarch.
Jonas has recently enjoyed a prolific phase, premiering his musical dramedy "Power Ballad" at SXSW. He will also appear in the upcoming film "White Elephant" alongside Kathryn Newton and in the next instalment of the "Jumanji" series with Dwayne Johnson, Jack Black and Kevin Hart. UNI NST SSP

Annabel O’Hagan and Dave Register have also been upped to series regulars for the upcoming season alongside Frances Turner, who was upped to series regular in Season 2, according to DEADLINE.
