NGOCC delegation meets CEC, hopeful of change in vote counting date

Aizawl, Nov 28 (UNI) A five-member delegation of NGO Coordination Committee (NGOCC), an umbrella organisation of Mizoram’s major civil societies and student associations, on Tuesday expressed optimism that the Election Commission of India will change the date of counting of votes scheduled to be held on December 3, which falls on Sunday.

The NGOCC delegation led by its Chairman Lalhmachhuana, who is also president of the powerful central committee of the Young Mizo Association (YMA) met Chief Election Commissioner Rajiv Kumar, Election Commissioner and other senior officials at the ECI office in Nirvachan Sadan, in New Delhi at 3.00 pm this afternoon.
