Tokyo, Aug 31 (UNI) The death toll from Typhoon Shanshan in Japan has risen to six, with 125 others injured and one person unaccounted for, the NHK broadcaster reported.
Three of the five people who went missing during a landslide in Aichi Prefecture have been confirmed dead, with two others sustaining injuries. Another person reportedly died in the town of Kamiita on Shikoku Island.
The 10th powerful typhoon of the current season, Shanshan, made landfall at around 8 a.m. local time (23:00 GMT Wednesday) off the coast of Kagoshima Prefecture on Kyushu Island, near the town of Satsumasendai.
