US puts Cuba back on list of 'not fully cooperating countries' - State Dept.

Washington, May 13 (UNI) The United States has concluded that Cuba did not fully cooperate with Washington on counterterrorism efforts in 2024, leading to its reinstatement on the list of countries labeled as "not fully cooperating," State Department spokesperson Tammy Bruce said on Tuesday.
"The Secretary of State [Marco Rubio] has determined and certified that Cuba did not fully cooperate with US counterterrorism efforts in 2024 and should therefore be certified as a "not fully cooperating country" (NFCC) under section 40A of the Arms Export Control Act," Bruce said in a statement.
The designation imposes a ban on the sale or licensing of defense articles and services to Cuba, according to the statement.
