Iran says reserves right to respond to Israeli attack

United Nations, Oct 27 (UNI) Iran reserves the right to respond to Israel's attack, according to a letter published by the country's mission to the UN.
"The Islamic Republic of Iran, in alignment with the principles enshrined in the Charter of the United Nations and under international law, reserves its inherent right to legal and legitimate response to these criminal attacks at the appropriate time," the letter of Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi to the UN Security Council and UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres says.
Iran also called on the Guterres and members of the Security Council to condemn Israel for the attack.
On Saturday night, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) announced that it had struck military targets in Iran in response to the attacks on the Jewish state on October 1. CBS News reported, citing a source, that the Israeli attack on Iran was limited to military targets and had not extended to nuclear or oil facilities.
According to IRNA, none of Iran's oil facilities were damaged.
The Fars news agency claimed that Israel had struck a number of military bases in the west and southwest of Tehran. At the same time, the Tasnim news agency stated that the military centers of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC, elite units of the Armed Forces), located in the west and southwest of the Iranian capital, had not been damaged.
A Sputnik correspondent reported that at about 1:25 GMT, ​​a second series of explosions was heard in the central part of Tehran, in the area of ​​the Russian embassy, which lasted about a minute.
