Tariffs proposed by Trump threaten North American jobs: Mexican employers

Mexico City, Nov 28 (UNI) U.S. President-elect Donald Trump's proposal to slap tariffs on Mexico and Canada could threaten the regional job market and create economic uncertainty, the Employers' Confederation of the Mexican Republic (Coparmex) warned Wednesday.
Coparmex said that Trump's repeated tariff threats would impact the region's economic stability and pose "a direct challenge to the spirit of cooperation and understanding" of the United States-Mexico-Canada Agreement (USMCA).
The tariff threats "generate uncertainty in strategic sectors and jeopardize millions of jobs" reliant on trade between the three countries, said Coparmex.
