French PM passes 2025 budget bill without lawmakers' vote

Paris, Feb 3 (UNI) French Prime Minister Francois Bayrou has passed on Monday the 2025 budget bill bypassing the vote of the lawmakers, risking a vote of no confidence from the opposition, the broadcast of the French National Assembly meeting showed.
“For the first time in the history of the Fifth Republic, our country is still without a budget in February. All parties have been accepted and listened to. Yes, this budget is not perfect, but we need it,” Bayrou said.
Speaker of the lower house of parliament, Yael-Braun Pivet, then announced that “in accordance with article 49.3 of the constitution, the budget is deemed to have been passed.”
