Former Philippine President Duterte to appear at ICC for 1st time on Mar 14 - Court

Manila, Mar 14 (UNI) Former Philippine President Rodrigo Duterte will make his first appearance at the International Criminal Court (ICC) on March 14, the court said.
The court said Thursday Duterte has been placed in an ICC detention center following the completion of necessary medical examinations.
On Wednesday, Duterte was taken into the ICC's custody in The Hague. A day before, on Tuesday, the Philippine presidential office issued an arrest warrant for the ex-president on charges of crimes against humanity.

Dhaka/New Delhi, Nov 17 (UNI) Bangladesh’s former prime minister Sheikh Hasina was on Monday sentenced to death by the country’s war crimes tribunal over a crackdown on anti-government protesters last year, terming it as "crimes against humanity". Hasina, who lives in India in self-exile, has trashed the tribunal as “rigged” and rejected the allegations.

Dhaka, Nov 17 (UNI) Hours after the ruling of its special court system, the ICT (International Crimes Tribunal), condemning former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina to the gallows, the country's Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) on Monday said it will formally send a letter to the Indian Government seeking the repatriation of both Hasina and former Home Affairs Minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal.
