Dozens of tractors block traffic in Italy amid farmers' protests

Milan, Jan 10 (UNI/SPUTNIK) Around 50 farmers' tractors blocked traffic in Milan in protest against the European Union's trade deal with Mercosur countries, local media reported.
Farmers blocked the streets around the central train station in Milan on Friday and later drove their tractors to the Lombardy regional government building, the MilanoToday news portal reported. There, they spilled milk from a tanker onto the street and dumped several bales of hay.
EU countries voted to approve the controversial agreement with the South American trade bloc Mercosur on Friday. Argentine Foreign Minister Pablo Quirno said on Friday that the trade agreement between the South American common market and the European union was going to be signed on January 17 in Paraguay.
