Trump "feels strongly" about US-India ties, says White House; trade talks "serious"

Washington, Nov 5 (UNI) Reaffirming Washington’s commitment to deepening ties with New Delhi, the White House said today that President Donald Trump “feels very strongly” about the US–India partnership and continues to hold “very serious” trade discussions with the Indian government.
"The president and his trade team continue to be in very serious discussions with India," White House spokeswoman Karoline Leavitt told reporters.
While addressing a press briefing, Leavitt emphasised that Trump continues to maintain regular communication with PM Narendra Modi, saying, "The President is positive and feels very strongly about the India-US relationship. A few weeks ago, he spoke to the Prime Minister directly when he celebrated Diwali in the Oval Office with many high-ranking Indian-American officials here at the White House."

Negotiations aim to defend National interests, do not mean surrender: Pezeshkian

Tehran, May 10 (UNI) Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian said on Sunday that the very basis of engaging in negotiations with the United States is to secure the country’s rights and firmly defend national interests, asserting that dialogue should not be interpreted as “surrender or retreat.”
Pezeshkian said the Iranian nation “will never bow before the enemy,” as reported by the Iranian state media.
