Flooding kills at least 13 in Haiti, 15 injured - Reports

Port-au-Prince, Dec 27 (UNI) At least 13 people have died and 15 more have been injured as a result of flooding in four departments in Haiti, the AlterPresse news agency has reported, citing the country's Civil Defence Commission.
Over the course of several days, the flood has destroyed over 500 houses in the Haitian departments of Nord, Nord-Ouest, Grand'Anse, and Nippes, the agency said on Thursday, adding that about 100 houses have been damaged and more than 16,500 remain flooded.
One person has been declared missing.
Haitian Prime Minister Alix Didier Fils-Aime has announced the creation of a special interagency unit for coordination of a swift and effective response to the downpour and flooding.

Brasilia, Feb. 7 (UNI) Brazilian President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva said Thursday that U.S. President Donald Trump was elected to govern the United States, not "to rule the world."
In an interview with two radio stations based in the northeastern state of Bahia, Lula said, "I respect the election of President Trump who was elected by the American people to govern the United States," but "he was not elected to rule the world."
The U.S. president has to maintain "democratic and civilized" relations with the rest of the world, Lula noted, with reference to Trump's intention to relocate Palestinians from the Gaza Strip.
