Parliamentary Elections in Iraq's Kurdistan region rescheduled for October 20- Authorities

Doha, June 27 (UNI) The leader of Iraq's Kurdistan Region, Nechirvan Barzani, after lengthy political disputes, has set a new date for parliamentary elections in the region: they will be held on October 20, Kurdistan regional presidential administration spokesman Dilshad Shahab said at a press conference broadcast by Kurdish broadcaster Rudaw.
Political differences between different parties in Iraqi Kurdistan have repeatedly delayed voting.
“It was decided to declare October 20, 2024 the day of elections for deputies of the parliament of Iraqi Kurdistan of the sixth convocation,” Shahab quoted the presidential decree.
