US-Ukraine draft new framework for drone cooperation amid Iran war

Washington/Kyiv, May 12 (UNI) The US and Ukraine have drafted a memorandum laying out the framework for a possible new defence partnership focused heavily on military technology and drone production, according to sources familiar with the discussions.
As per the draft agreement, worked on by the US State Department and Ukrainian Ambassador to the US Olha Stefanishyna, would pave the way for Kyiv to export defence technology to Washington and jointly manufacture of drones with American companies, according to CBS News.
The talks come as Ukraine's wartime drone industry has drawn increasing international attention after more than four years of fighting with Russia, with Ukrainian companies and military units having managed to develop large-scale low-cost drone production, long-range strike capabilities, and sophisticated electronic warfare systems under battlefield conditions.
