One killed, 10 injured as blast targets paramilitary convoy in SW Pakistan

Islamabad, Mar 21 (UNI) A soldier was killed and 10 others injured when an improvised explosive device (IED) blast targeted a convoy of paramilitary Frontier Corps (FC) troops in Pakistan's southwestern Balochistan province on Thursday, an official sources said.
The attack occurred around 12:55 p.m. local time (0755 GMT) in Kech district, a region that has witnessed sporadic militant violence in recent years, security sources told Xinhua.
Security forces cordoned off the area following the explosion, and the injured were shifted to a nearby hospital for medical treatment.
No group has yet claimed responsibility for the attack, but Balochistan has seen frequent attacks by separatist groups and insurgents targeting security personnel and government installations.
Authorities have launched an investigation into the incident, the sources added.
