Beirut, June 14 (UNI) A woman was killed, and 14 other civilians injured on Thursday night in an Israeli airstrike on a house located between the town of Jannata and the municipality of Deir Qanoun En Nahr in southern Lebanon, Lebanese sources told Xinhua.
A medical source told Xinhua that the injured, including four in critical condition, were transported to three hospitals in the city of Tyre.
Lebanese military sources said that an Israeli warplane destroyed a two-story house with two air-to-ground missiles.
The sources added that efforts are underway to search for individuals who are still under the rubble.
Tensions along the Lebanon-Israel border escalated on Oct. 8, 2023, following a barrage of rockets launched by the Lebanese armed group Hezbollah toward Israel in solidarity with Hamas' attack on Israel the day before. Israel then retaliated by firing heavy artillery toward southeastern Lebanon.
