Florida woman rushed to hospital after mistaking nail glue for eye drops

Tampa, Nov 6 (UNI) Brianne Shipley, a resident of central Florida in US, went viral on TikTok on Tuesday after mistakenly using nail glue instead of prescribed eye drops that led to an emergency hospital visit.
The horrifying episode took place in the early hours of October 31.
According to People magazine, Shipley informed she was half asleep when she received notification that it was time to apply her eye drops which she was using every few hours to cure a bacterial infection.
However, she mistakenly went for the nail glue bottle kept on the same nightstand instead of the eye drop prescribed by the doctor.
"As the drop was falling I realised something was wrong. As soon as it hit my eye, I started screaming."
She immediately flushed her eyes with water as best as she could and then headed to a local hospital.
"That drive to the hospital was the worst pain — it was just burning, on fire, it felt like rocks in my eye," she says.
The doctor assured her that the initial care led her to escape any fatal accident. She endured a painful flushing process followed by medicated ointment to aid healing.
She shared her story publicly on TikTok to encourage others to store medical products separately, stating, it’s easy to make a mistake with small bottles.
