Deputy CM Shinde calls Asha Bhosle a “divine voice” that defined generations

Mumbai, April 12 (UNI) In a deeply emotional tribute issued in Mumbai on April 12, Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde mourned the passing of legendary playback singer Asha Bhosle, describing her as the “Queen of Melody” whose voice shaped the emotional landscape of generations. He said that with her demise, a divine voice that had enriched the hearts of four generations and brought the magic of cinema into every home has now fallen silent.
Reflecting on her unparalleled musical legacy, Shinde noted that for decades there had hardly been a sunrise or sunset untouched by Asha Bhosle’s songs. Her voice, he said, had the rare ability to illuminate countless moments of life, filling them with joy and emotional depth, much like the symbolic “auspicious henna” that colours cherished occasions. Her melodies, he added, became an inseparable part of everyday existence, resonating across time and generations.
Calling her loss deeply personal and difficult to comprehend, the Deputy Chief Minister said it was hard to accept that Asha Bhosle was no longer physically present. However, he emphasised that her musical legacy would continue to live on eternally through her timeless compositions, ensuring that her presence would always be felt.
