VHP terms Rs 10 Cr to Maha Waqf Board as “politics of appeasement”

Mumbai, June 14 (UNI) The Maharashtra government decision for the allocation of Rs 10 crore to the state Waqf Board for its digitization for the financial year 2024–25 was on Friday termed “politics of appeasement” by the Vishwa Hindu Parishad.
Protesting the move, secretary of VHP’s Konkan region Mohan Salekar said, “Why is the state government bowing to Muslims? Why are they appeasing them? Such appeasement will not be tolerated.”
Reacting to this, state BJP president Chandrashekhar Bawankule said that "the funds allocated by the state government were for the digitization of the Waqf Board. The process was necessary to fix the wrongs. It would help to identify the land that has been wrongly acquired by Hindus, tribals, and backward classes.”
