BJP accuses UBT of credit politics over D.B. Patil Airport naming

Mumbai, Oct 8 (UNI) BJP's Media Department Head Navnath Ban today trashed Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Sanjay Raut's claim that approval for naming the Navi Mumbai airport after D.B. Patil was given by the cabinet led by Uddhav Thackeray and that they had sent the proposal to the Centre. Ban termed Raut's claim as nothing but a big joke.
Raut’s attempt to take credit for the naming of the airport is not right. BJP MLA Prashant Thakur had been insisting from the beginning that the Navi Mumbai airport should be named after D. B. Patil, he said.
After that, Devendra Fadnavis did all the follow-up and took a firm stand in insisting that the airport be named after the people’s leader D. B. Patil.
