RPI (A) chief asks Maha Govt to fulfil electoral promise of giving Rs 2,100 stipend to Ladki Bahin yojana beneficiaries

Pune, Mar 8 (UNI) Union Minister of State for Social Justice and RPI (A) president, Ramdas Athawale, said here on Saturday that the Mahayuti government, led by Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, should fulfil promise of giving a stipend of Rs 2,100 instead of Rs 1,500 to the women beneficiaries of Ladki Bahin yojana made by Eknath Shinde when he was the chief minister.
Talking to reporters here, Athawale said although the Ladki Bahin scheme is putting some pressure on the government exchequer, the state government should fulfil its promise to provide more funds to the Ladki Bahin beneficiaries.
Some decisions taken by Eknath Shinde as the chief minister have been cancelled by Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, as a result, an atmosphere of tension is being created between Shinde and Fadnavis, the RPI-A chief noted.
