Quota activist warns Congress party

Jalna, Jun 10 (UNI) Maratha quota activist, Manoj Jarange-Patil, on Monday gave an open warning to the Congress party, saying that it is speaking against interests of the Maratha community and it will have to face consequences in the Maharashtra Assembly elections due to be held later this year.
On third day of his indefinite hunger strike at Antarwali Sarathi village in Jalna, the quota activist reiterated his demand for implementation of the draft notification that recognises Kunbis as 'blood relatives' (Sagesoire) of the Maratha community members and demanded a law to recognise Kunbis as Marathas.
Kunbis, a Maratha sub-caste, are members of a largely agrarian community that comes under Other Backward Classes (OBC) category.
