Maha: Tensions surface in Mumbai Mahayuti over Mayor’s drain cleaning inspection tour

Mumbai, May 8 (UNI) As the Mumbai civic administration and ruling alliance leaders intensify their efforts to speed up drain cleaning work across the city ahead of the upcoming monsoon season, tensions have surfaced in Mumbai Mahayuti over Mayor’s drain cleaning inspection tours.
Mumbai Mayor Ritu Tawde has undertaken the task of inspecting desilting and drain-cleaning operations in differet parts of the city. However, the Mayor’s inspection visits have now triggered fresh friction within the ruling Mahayuti alliance, as Shiv Sena leaders have expressed their displeasure after Deputy Mayor Sanjay Ghadigaonkar was reportedly not invited to join the Mayor’s inspection tour.
This is not the first time tensions have emerged between the ruling allies, Shiv Sena and BJP, in the BrihanMumbai Municipal Corporation. Since the formation of the civic administration, disagreements between the two parties have surfaced repeatedly over various issues.
