Caste-wise census important for OBCs: IAC president

Pune, May 6 (UNI) India Against Corruption (IAC) National President Hemant Patil said here on Tuesday that the decision to conduct a caste-wise census is very important for the Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes and Other Backward Classes in the country, and added that no caste-wise census has been conducted in the country since 1931.
Prime Minister Modi has done what the previous central governments could not do, he said.
There is data regarding the SC and ST population, but due to the lack of data on OBCs, there is no clarity in the policy regarding reservation, said Patil.
