Heatwave, humid conditions and unseasonal rain likely to continue across Maha: IMD

Pune, May 9 ( UNI) Maharashtra is likely to witness a mix of intense heat, humid weather and unseasonal rainfall over the next few days, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) has warned.
A yellow alert for hot and humid conditions remains in force for Mumbai and the Konkan region, while several districts in Vidarbha and western Maharashtra are expected to receive thunderstorms accompanied by strong winds and lightning.
According to the IMD, Mumbai, Thane, Palghar, Raigad, Ratnagiri and Sindhudurg are likely to experience temperatures between 32 and 35 degrees Celsius with humidity levels reaching nearly 80 percent. South Konkan may continue to receive unseasonal rain over the next 48 hours, prompting authorities to advise residents to remain alert.
