SIMI possibly behind 2008 Malegaon blast: Sadhvi Pragya's lawyer

Mumbai, Oct 3 (UNI) BJP leader Sadhvi Pragya Thakur, a prime accused in the 2008 Malegaon bomb blast case, has claimed that the blast in powerloom town of Malegaon could have been carried out by the banned Students' Islamic Movement of India (SIMI).
This submission was made by the lawyer of self-proclaimed preacher while making a final argument before a special court in Mumbai on Thursday.
Arguing before special Judge A K Lahoti, Thakur's lawyer, Advocate J P Mishra, said that local people prevented police from reaching the site immediately after the blast and it could have been done to shield the accused.
