Maha govt disburses Rs 49 crore for repair, reconstruction of rain-damaged houses

Mumbai, June 3 (UNI) The Maharashtra government has disbursed Rs 49 crores as immediate assistance for the repair and reconstruction of collapsed houses due to damage caused by heavy rains in the state, Principal Secretary of Relief and Rehabilitation Department Sonia Sethi said at a state Cabinet meeting here on Tuesday.
Sethi said the previous Cabinet meeting on May 27 had suggested providing emergency funds for the repair and reconstruction of the collpased houses.
Accordingly, a fund of Rs 49 crore has been distributed. Rupees Five crores has been given to Konkan division, Rs 12 crores to Pune division, rupees five crores to Nashik division, Rs 12 crores to Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar division, rupees five crores to Amravati division and rupees ten crores has been handed out to Nagpur division.

Mumbai, July 9 (UNI) A day after police denied permission to Maharashtra Navnirman Sena workers to carried out a protest in Mira Road town of neighbouring Thane district, the Maharashtra government today transferred Mira Bhayandar-Vasai Virar (MBVV) Police Commissioner Madhukar Pandey under whose jurisdiction the area falls, where a shopkeeper was allegedly attacked by Raj Thackery led party activists for not speaking in Marathi.
