Maha CM calls for celebrating Ambedkar’s ideas as a 'festival of thoughts'

Mumbai, April 14 (UNI) Maharashtra marked the 135th birth anniversary of Dr BR Ambedkar with widespread public participation, elaborate government initiatives and heightened security arrangements at major memorial sites. Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis urged citizens to mark the day as a “festival of thoughts,” emphasising the need to spread Ambedkar’s ideals of equality, education, and constitutional values.
The state also highlighted its earlier initiative of acquiring Ambedkar’s London residence, now developed into a memorial and museum, as part of efforts to preserve his intellectual legacy.
Observed as a public holiday, the occasion witnessed large gatherings across cities as people paid homage to the architect of the Indian Constitution and a pioneering social reformer whose ideas continue to shape modern India.
