Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj's biggest life-size statue in Sindhudurg collapses

Kolhapur / Sindhudurg, Aug 26 (UNI) A life-size statue of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj at Rajkot fort on a beach in Malvan town of coastal Sindhudurg district in Konkan region of Maharashtra, inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi amidst big fanfare late last year, collapsed suddenly on Monday due to its alleged inferior construction work, spreading a wave of anger amongst the 'Shiv Premis' in Sindhudurg district.
The magnificent 35-feet tall statue of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj installed at Rajkot in Malvan tehsil of Sindhudurg district, which was inaugurated by Modi in a grand function on December four, 2023 with extravaganza on occasion of annual Navy Day function, suddenly collapsed this afternoon allegedly due to poor quality of its construction.
With the statue collapsing in just eight months, there is a wave of anger amidst the 'Shiv Premis' of the district, who gathered at the scene and alleged that it collapsed due to its shoddy construction work.
