56-yr-old woman killed in road accident in Nashik

Nashik, Nov 4 (UNI) A 56-year-old woman riding pillion on a scooter was killed on the spot after she fell on the road from the two-wheeler after being hit by a speeding truck and came under the wheels of a tractor at Gupta hospital near Palse village on the Nashik-Pune road, near here.
According to police, the deceased, identified as Sona Bakerao Demse (56, resident of Pathardi), died on the spot after being run over by the tractor on Monday evening.
Sonabai Demse was riding pillion on a two-wheeler from Pathardi village to Palse with her daughter Vaishali Sandeep Gaydhani. When a speeding truck hit the two-wheeler in front of Gupta Hospital on the Nashik-Pune highway, Vaishali Gaydhani lost control of her two-wheeler, lost her balance and both of them fell on the road. Before they knew it, the tractor coming from behind crushed Sonabai Demse and drove forward.

Court upholds sentence to Maha min Manikrao Kokate

Nashik, Dec 16 (UNI) The First Class Court on Tuesday sentenced Maharashtra Sports Minister Manikrao Kokate to two years in prison in the case of embezzlement of 10 percent flats in the government quota.
Kokate had approached the District Sessions Court against this sentence. After the arguments of both sides in the case in District Sessions Court, the court has now announced the verdict. This verdict is considered a big setback for Manikrao Kokate.
