Bengaluru, July 9 (UNI) Calling the Bharat Bandh a "revolt" against the Modi government, AICC General Secretary and Karnataka in-charge Randeep Singh Surjewala today said the nationwide strike reflects the people's anger over "broken promises" and "economic betrayal" under BJP rule. Addressing the media, Surjewala declared, "This is not just a bandh. It is a revolt. A call for course correction."
He said the bandh, supported by over 25 crore workers and farmers and called by 10 central trade unions including INTUC, CITU, AITUC, SEWA, and HMS, represents a unified stand against the BJP’s anti-worker and anti-farmer policies. “The Modi government has shut down development, taken away jobs, and triggered economic unrest,” he stated.
