South Africa opt to bowl in Second ODI against India

Raipur, Dec 3 (UNI) South Africa won the toss and elected to bowl in the second One Day International (ODI) against India here on Wednesday. The decision comes as dew is expected to play a major role later in the match, potentially making batting easier in the second innings.
Reflecting on losing yet another toss, Rahul said, “Honestly, that’s the most pressure I’ve had because we haven’t won a toss in a long time. I think we did really well last game. A lot of positives from the last game, so just trying to continue that. The boys are looking in good shape. Before the series, we spoke about dew, which is a factor in India at this time. Our bowlers have discussed tactics, which we executed well last game. If we put runs on board and pick up a few early wickets, it becomes a bit easier.”
On his decision to bowl first, South Africa captain Temba Bavuma said, “It’s very hard to say what the pitch will do. We’re hoping that as the night comes in, the dew comes in, and the ball skids more. We’ve got three changes in the side – myself, Keshav Maharaj, and Lungi Ngidi. It’s a big game for us, a chance to keep the series alive.”
