SA's 359 chase equals highest total ever against India in ODIs

Raipur, Dec 3 (UNI) In a thrilling encounter at the Shaheed Veer Narayan Singh International Stadium, South Africa delivered a masterclass in composure, skill, and teamwork by successfully chasing 359 against India in the second ODI, marking the joint-highest target ever chased against India in ODIs.
The victory not only leveled the three-match series at 1-1 but also set the stage for a high-stakes decider in Visakhapatnam, keeping fans on the edge of their seats.
Chasing a target of 350-plus in India is a rare feat; in ODI history, only five teams have managed it. South Africa's chase was anchored by Aiden Markram, whose innings of 110 runs accounted for 50.9 percent of the team's runs in the V zone, showcasing his mental strength and strategic acumen. Markram's calculated aggression and precise timing allowed South Africa to maintain control despite the daunting scoreboard pressure, earning him the Player of the Match award.
