Hyderabad, Sep 12 (UNI) Telangana Labour and Mines Minister Dr Vivek Venkataswamy emphasised the need to empower women in business and entrepreneurship, stating that their participation is essential for boosting the country’s GDP.
He was speaking as the chief guest at the “CII Indian Women Uplift – Voice for Change” program held at Tech Mahindra, Hi-Tech City, today.
The Minister lauded CII’s efforts in promoting women entrepreneurs and highlighted the state government’s initiatives through the Indra Mahila Shakti scheme.
He urged women to step forward in the business sector, noting that their courage and multitasking abilities make them natural leaders.
“It is the responsibility of society to provide opportunities to every woman in the household. The women in my family are also successful entrepreneurs,” he said.
Encouraging youth, Dr Venkataswamy advised them to begin businesses with small investments and treat the journey as a challenge. “Even wrong decisions can teach lessons for life,” he remarked.
Pointing to the untapped potential of rural women, the Minister stressed that with proper encouragement, they could play a vital role in the country’s development. He concluded by calling for recognition of women’s power not just on platforms, but within every home.
