Trough persists across South India; thunderstorms, rising temperature likely in AP: Met

Amaravati, Apr 22 (UNI) The Meteorological Centre on Tuesday reported that the north-south trough, which was earlier positioned from north Chhattisgarh to the Gulf of Mannar, now extends from a cyclonic circulation over northwest Bihar and its neighbourhood to the Gulf of Mannar.
This trough runs across Chhattisgarh, East Vidarbha, Telangana, Interior Karnataka, and Tamil Nadu at an altitude of 0.9 km above mean sea level.
In its daily weather report, the Centre forecast thunderstorms accompanied by lightning and gusty winds, with speeds ranging from 30 to 40 kmph, at isolated places in Coastal Andhra Pradesh, Yanam, and Rayalaseema over the next five days.
