Telangana Minister says SLBC tunnel rescue in final stages

Nagarkurnool (Telangana), Feb 26 (UNI) In a significant development, the Indian Marine Commando Force (MARCOS) and the Border Roads Organisation (BRO) have been roped in for rescuing eight people = two engineers and six workers - trapped inside the Srisailam Left Bank Canal (SLBC) tunnel in Telangana, a minister said on Wednesday.
Telangana Irrigation Minister Capt. N. Uttam Kumar Reddy said the state government had escalated its efforts, deploying elite forces, national agencies, and high-tech solutions to ensure the swift and safe evacuation of the trapped workers.
Following an extensive field assessment over the past two days, Uttam stated that a concrete plan of action has now been finalised to ensure the safety of both rescuers and survivors.
