Body recovered 16 days after SLBC tunnel collapse

Hyderabad, Mar 9 (UNI) A body has been recovered 16 days after the tragic Srisailam Left Bank Canal (SLBC) tunnel collapse in Nagarkurnool district, BRS Working President KT Rama Rao (KTR) expressed deep sorrow over the incident.
The deceased is believed to be Gurpreet Singh, a mission operator from Punjab. Extending his condolences to the grieving family, KTR in a statement here on Sunday night demanded that the bereaved family receive compensation between Rs 50 lakh and Rs 1 crore.
Criticising the Congress government’s handling of the rescue operation, KTR stated that the Chief Minister’s failure and the negligence of the contracting company had resulted in this disaster. He lamented that despite everyone’s prayers for a successful rescue, the incompetence of the government led to this heartbreaking outcome.
