Telangana’s civil supplies reforms set national benchmark: Principal Secretary

Hyderabad, Mar 24 (UNI) The reforms implemented in the Telangana Civil Supplies Department over the past year and a half have become a model for the country, said D S Chauhan, Principal Secretary of the department.
He highlighted that the department has undergone a complete transformation, ensuring the timely distribution of quality food grains to the poor and streamlining procurement processes for farmers.
Payments for procured grain are now being made within 48 hours, and stringent measures have been taken against illegal transportation and CMR evasion, resulting in the seizure of rice worth Rs 409 crore over the last 15 months.
