Telangana Govt launches “CLAP for Children” Action Plan for Child Safety

Hyderabad, Sep 18 (UNI) The Government of Telangana, in collaboration with UNICEF and the Hyderabad District Administration, today launched “CLAP for Children – City Level Action Plan for Child Safety.”
The initiative aims to ensure that every child in Hyderabad grows up safe, healthy and is supported through coordinated efforts of government departments, statutory bodies and community stakeholders.
The programme focuses on strengthening statutory bodies and frontline services for timely child protection. It brings together the Women and Child Welfare, Police, Health, Education, Labour, Social Welfare, GHMC, Panchayat Raj and Disaster Management departments for coordinated action. Efforts will be directed towards preventing bullying, eve-teasing, unsafe transport and drug abuse, with active involvement of children and the community.
