Bhu Bharati Act to be rolled out in 28 Mandals in Telangana from May 5

Hyderabad, May 4 (UNI) In a major step towards resolving long-standing land issues in Telangana, Revenue, Housing, Information and Public Relations Minister Ponguleti Srinivasa Reddy announced that the state government will implement the Bhu Bharati Act in 28 mandals across 28 districts starting May 5.

The Act, aimed at protecting farmers' rights and streamlining land administration, is being phased in after initial meetings held last month in four mandals.

Minister Ponguleti stated that revenue meetings will be held from May 5 to May 20 in the identified mandals to create awareness about the Act and receive and resolve land-related applications from citizens.

He emphasised that district Collectors must actively participate in these meetings, communicate in a language easily understood by farmers, and address their concerns on the spot.

Highlighting the need for the Act, the Minister criticised the previous government's land management, citing the Dharani portal scam and widespread land disputes that left hundreds of families across villages in distress.

“Under the Indiramma Sarkar, officers will now go directly to the farmers to resolve land issues, eliminating the need for lengthy court battles,” he said.

The Bhu Bharati Act is seen as a comprehensive solution to Telangana’s complex land issues, promising transparency, accessibility, and justice in land administration. The government hopes that with active participation from officials and support from the public, the Act will bring long-awaited relief to farmers and restore confidence in the state’s land governance.

The 28 mandals where the Bhu Bharati Act is being implemented include Bharoj (Adilabad), Sujathanagar (Bhadradri Kothagudem), Nadikuda (Hanumakonda), Buggaram (Jagityal), Ghanpur (Janagaon), and others across the state.
