Gruha Lakshmi has become election Lakshmi scheme: Vijayendra

Bengaluru, May 6 (UNI) Karnataka BJP president Vijayendra Yedyurappa on Wednesday mounted an aggressive political offensive against the Congress government's flagship guarantee schemes, alleging that the Siddaramaiah administration had converted the state's ambitious Gruha Lakshmi programme into an "Election Lakshmi scheme" designed to influence voters ahead of crucial local body polls.
The sharp attack signals the BJP's attempt to reframe the Congress government's welfare narrative from "social guarantee" to "electoral strategy," setting the stage for a major political confrontation in Karnataka ahead of the Zilla Panchayat and Taluk Panchayat elections.
Addressing reporters in Chitradurga, Vijayendra accused the Congress government of deliberately timing the release of Gruha Lakshmi instalments to coincide with elections.
