BJP Natl Prez Nadda reviews 2026 TN Assembly poll preparatory works

Chennai, May 3 (UNI) In his first visit weeks after the revival of alliance with the main opposition AIADMK, BJP National President and Union Minister J P Nadda on Saturday held a meeting with
the core committee members of the Party's Tamil Nadu unit, discussed and reviewed the 2026 Assembly poll strategy and the preparatory works.
Newly-elected BJP State Unit President and Legislature Party Leader Nainar Nagendran, who is a former AIADMK strongman commanding enough influence in the southern districts, senior Leaders including BJP TN-incharge P Sudhakar Reddy, Convenor H Raja, National Mahila Morcha President Vanathi Srinivasan, also an MLA, former State Presidents Ms Tamiliisai Soundararajan, Pon Radhakrishnan and others.
In the meeting the party leaders, promised to strive hard to increase the BJP's numbers in the State Assembly by working in close-coordination with the AIADMK,which is heading the NDA in the State, and other allies which were likely to join the alliance an unseat the ruling DMK from power.
Mr Nadda also urged the party functionaries to go the extra mile to strengthen the grassroot level workers and immediately start the preparatory works for the polls, which is less than an year away.
It may be recalled that the BJP revived the ties with the AIADMK-- two years after it had walked out
of the NDA--for the crucial 2026 polls and it was announced by BJP master poll strategist and Union Minister Amit Shah after AIADMK General Secretary and Leader of the Opposition Edappadi K Palaniswami met him at New Delhi.
