AIADMK to hold key district secretaries meeting on Nov 5 following Sengottaiyan's expulsion

Chennai, Nov 2 (UNI) Embroiled in intra-party dissensions leading to the expulsion of veteran leader and former Minister K A Sengottaiyan for uniting with the ousted leaders to strengthen the party ahead of the 2026 Assembly polls, the main Opposition AIADMK has convened its District Secretaries meeting on November 5.
The meeting to be chaired by Party General Secretary and the Leader of the Opposition, Edappadi K Palaniswami, was expected to take some crucial decisions at the meeting, while devising to strengthen the front after having revived its alliance with the BJP.
The meeting is being convened in the backdrop of EPS removing senior leader and eight-time and present MLA and Erode strongman KA Senogottaiyan from the primary membership for joining hands with ousted leaders after setting an ultimatum to re-induct O Panneerselvam, AMMK Founder TTV Dhinakaran, and V K Sasikala, a close aide of former Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa.
