Telangana Govt assesses crop damage from hailstorms, promises compensation

Hyderabad, Mar 24 (UNI) The Telangana government has received a preliminary report on crop damage caused by hailstorms between March 21 and 23, affecting 11,298 acres across 64 mandals in 13 districts.
State Agriculture Minister Tummala has direct ed agriculture department officials to conduct a farmer-wise survey and prepare a final report to assess the losses accurately. The affected crops include 6,670 acres of paddy, 4,100 acres of maize, and 309 acres of mango, with the remaining area consisting of other crops.
“We will take steps to pay compensation once the complete report on crop damage is received,” Minister Tummala assured, reinforcing the government’s commitment to supporting the affected farmers, an official statement said on Monday.
