BJP demands CBI probe into Kaleshwaram project

Hyderabad, Aug 6 (UNI) Telangana BJP President N Ramchander Rao on Wednesday demanded a CBI inquiry into the alleged corruption in the Kaleshwaram project and advocated the construction of a new irrigation project at Tummadihatti to meet the water needs of the region.
Addressing the media at Sirpur Kagaznagar in Komaram Bheem Asifabad district, Rao said there is a strong demand for irrigation water in the region after the realignment of the Pranahita-Chevella project.
He suggested that a separate project at the confluence of the Wardha and Wainganga rivers near Tummadihatti could irrigate about 2.5 lakh acres and resolve water scarcity for farmers.
