Telangana Govt extends support to families of deceased journalists

Hyderabad, Sep 29 (UNI) Telangana Panchayat Raj, Rural Development, Women and Child Welfare Minister Seethakka today said the state government remains committed to the welfare of journalists and their families.
At a programme held at the Media Academy building in Nampally, cheques of Rs 1 lakh each were distributed to the families of 18 journalists who recently passed away while in service. The cheques were handed over by Minister Seethakka, Press Academy Chairman K Srinivas Reddy, and Special Commissioner of Information and Public Relations Ch Priyanka.
Speaking on the occasion, Seethakka recalled the vital role played by journalists during the Telangana movement, noting that they continued their work despite resistance from some managements.
