Journos Liz Mathew, Uzma Athar, V. S. Rajesh among National Excellence Award Winners 2025

Thiruvananthapuram, Nov 6 (UNI) The Dr. Mangalam Swaminathan Foundation has announced the eight recipients of its National Excellence Awards for 2025, honouring outstanding contributions to national life across journalism, science reporting, art and culture, social service, and public service.
Senior journalists Liz Mathew of The Indian Express, Uzma Athar of Press Trust of India(PTI), and V. S. Rajesh of Kerala Kaumudi are among this year's awardees. Each award carries a cash prize of Rs 1 lakh along with a memento and a citation.
The Dr. Mangalam Swaminathan National Award for Excellence in Journalism 2025 will be conferred on Liz Mathew, Deputy Editor, The Indian Express, for her extensive and exclusive political reporting, innovative narrative style, and in-depth interviews with distinguished personalities in various fields of national life. Her understanding of the political landscape, impartial journalism, credible sourcing, and honest reporting has been noted as setting a benchmark of excellence.
