Karnataka Budget 2025-26: Rs 1,000 crore LEAP initiative announced

Bengaluru, Mar 7 (UNI) The Karnataka government on Friday announced a landmark initiative in its 2025-26 budget, unveiling the Local Economy Accelerator Program (LEAP) with a grant of Rs 1,000 crore.
Aimed at generating five lakh employment opportunities across the state, the program has been allocated Rs 200 crore for the current financial year, Siddaramaiah said while presenting his 16th budget.
In a bid to establish Karnataka as a leader in artificial intelligence (AI), the government will set up a Centre for Applied AI for Tech Solutions (CATS) with an investment of Rs 50 crore over the next five years. This initiative is expected to enhance the state's capabilities in AI-driven technology solutions, the CM said.
